The Hesmon Interiors team has been retrimming steering wheels in leather for more than 30 years. We started out manufacturing sports steering wheels – the Jo-To sports steering wheels are our work. When sports steering wheels were no longer permitted in place of modern airbag steering wheels, we switched to leather retrimming.
Our main specialty is steering wheel retrimming, but we also upholster many other interior parts. Beyond a simple leather retrim, we can bring your own custom design to life. Our work takes time and precision.

How does steering wheel retrimming work?
First, get in touch with us so we can discuss which steering wheel it is and what you have in mind. If no shape modification is needed, we can offer a 1- or 2-day appointment. On the agreed day, please bring the steering wheel or the car at 8:00 in the morning. If needed, we can also remove and refit the steering wheel for you. We go through your ideas once more in person and look at the leather samples together, so you can choose the right material. After that, there is nothing more for you to do. As soon as the steering wheel is ready, we will let you know when you can collect it. With a 1-day appointment the steering wheel is ready the same day, with a 2-day appointment the next day.
How much does steering wheel retrimming cost?
The price depends largely on the complexity of the steering wheel and the materials used. We can give you an exact price based on a photo of the steering wheel and your ideas. Feel free to send us photos and your ideas via Facebook or Instagram.
Can I wait on site?
Retrimming a steering wheel requires careful, precise work, so unfortunately it is not possible to wait for it. When the work is finished, we will let you know when you can collect it. Thank you for your understanding.
Care and cleaning?
We hand over finished steering wheels with the leather conditioned and the plastic parts cleaned and treated. After that, we recommend proper leather care to extend its lifetime: first clean the steering wheel of any dirt, then apply leather conditioner. After conditioning, wipe the steering wheel with a dry cloth. We recommend repeating this every 4–5 months.
Warranty?
Of course, our work comes with a warranty. The warranty does not cover damage caused by steering wheel covers, steering locks or rings, lack of care, or any other external impact.

- We agree on the details and the appointment.
Photo tip: take the photos in daylight, showing the whole steering wheel as well as close-ups of any worn or damaged areas – this helps us give a more accurate price.
